Rules

General

– RESPECT OTHER PLAYERS –

Respect works both ways, if you trash others online you will not receive their respect and you are not likely to get the respect of anyone else who sees how you trash people. If you want respect, give respect.

– NO ABUSIVE LANGUAGE –

Foul and abusive language will not be tolerated under any circumstances. This includes obvious swearing, sexual remarks, and any other abusive/discriminatory terms. It will be up to the admins to decide what constitutes abuse in each case. If you use foul/ abusive language, you can expect a swift verbal warning with further action taken if you continue to transgress.

– NO INAPPROPRIATE CONVERSATIONS –

Although everyone may define this differently, there are certain topics of conversation which are not suitable at {KoD}. Ensure that you refrain from talking about any illegal activities and/or topics of a sexual nature. Do not stir up debates about subjects such as religion and/ or politics. It is fine to have intelligent discussion but many players also use topics such as religion, race etc for flaming and trolling, so please ensure that you conduct such discussions either privately or off the server.

– NO TROLLING –

Although the term “trolling” can be defined broadly, there is no mistaking the fact that trolling is an attempt to provoke reactions and cause unrest through the use of such tactics as spamming, ignoring, complaining, talking nonsense, and deliberately behaving in an unreasonable manner. It will be up to the admins to decide whether a player is purposely engaging in trolling activity, and the appropriate action will be taken.

– NO IMPERSONATING –

It is not allowed to use clan tags if you are not a member of {KoD}. Furthermore, you may not knowingly use the name of another player on either the server or forums. In most cases, it will be clear if an impersonation has happened as a result of a genuine misunderstanding, but if you are found to have been knowingly impersonating another player/member, then you can expect a swift punishment.

Server

– REPORT RULEBREAKERS/ TRANSGRESSIONS –

Unfortunately, it is not possible for the admins to witness every single transgression on the server. If you witness a rule-breaker on the server, please use the amsay/ ampsay command in the console to send a message directly to the admins. That way, transgressions can be dealt with as smoothly and as quickly as possible.

– NO LAMING –

Laming is defined as attacking players who have their saber down and/or chatbox up. This includes flipkicks on players who are unarmed or have their chatbox up. Laming is also not allowed in duels at any time, unless your opponent states that you may kill/attack him freely. You may, however, attack players who have their sabers or melee activated. You may not run through areas of FFA/ players fighting, with your saber down and report it as laming, since you should be prepared to either have your saber ready or stay away from the area of fighting. Any instances of laming must be reported as soon as possible.

– NO FIGHTING IN INAPPROPRIATE AREAS –

All players are welcome to duel or FFA as much as they like on the server. However, if you do wish to FFA then you must do so in a space which is clear from chatting/ passive players, since you are likely to lame or cause annoyance to those who do not wish to fight if you are too close to them. You will be asked to move if you are causing annoyance by fighting too close to unarmed/chatting players. Further action will be taken if you deliberately ignore the request to move.

– NO SPAMMING –

Do not repeatedly send long messages in chat since this can block the screen and cause great annoyance to players. Some Kill-tracker programs also have long pre-programmed messages and if an admin feels that it is causing annoyance then you may be asked to turn it off. Furthermore, saber-spamming (repeatedly turning the saber on and off quickly), as well as taunt spamming, is an annoyance and is not allowed. Players who violate this rule can expect to be silenced, with further action taken if they do not agree to stop spamming.

– RESPECT THE ADMINS –

When playing on the {KoD} server, you are bound by the clan rules and directions of the admins at all times. Whilst you may reasonably ask for clarification if/ when admin action is taken against you, you may not make unnecessary fuss and complaints against admins. Do not try and deal with troublemakers yourself since you may also get into trouble, leave it to the admins to deal with and step away from any problems.

– NO PADAWAN NAMES –

Padawan names are the game’s default name and are not allowed on the server, due to the fact that many troublemakers hide behind the complete anonymity of a Padawan name. It also makes it easier to identify players if there are no Padawans on the server. If you connect to the server under a Padawan name, you will be asked to change it. If you do not change it within a reasonable time, you will be automatically re-named. Furthermore, you may not use names that are obviously offensive or abusive in nature. The admins may change your name at their discretion if it is in any way unsuitable.

– NO RECRUITING/ ADVERTISING FOR OTHER CLANS –

It is not allowed for members of other clans to recruit on the {KoD} server. No exceptions may be made. If you are found or suspected to be recruiting then you will be dealt with harshly by the admins. If you wish to challenge or invite {KoD} to your own clan’s server for an event etc, then you will first be asked to register on the {KoD} forums and make a formal post with a challenge/diplomacy request.

– NO EXPLOITS –

The use of scripts, wallhacks and aimbots is strictly prohibited. Detection of usage will be dealt with, and it is up to the admins to decide whether someone is transgressing this rule and what action to take.

Forum

– NO ADVERTISING –

It is not allowed to post any kind of advertising material on the forums. Any posts containing advertising will be subject to moderation and the users responsible for the posting will be warned. Continuous posting of advertising may result in removal from the forums.

– POST IN THE CORRECT SECTION –

To avoid unnecessary moderation and moving of topics, please ensure that you are familiar with each forum and post your threads appropriately. If you repeatedly and deliberately post threads in unsuitable sections you will be given a warning.

– NO INAPPROPRIATE DISCUSSIONS –

Whilst all posts must be free of offensive/abusive language, forum users must also ensure that they do not post topics of an inflammatory or controversial nature. Similar to the server rules, this includes religious/ political/ sexual discussions etc. Any posts deemed inappropriate will be moderated and warnings issued. Repeated inappropriate postings may lead to a forum ban.

– NO OBSCENE/ PORNOGRAPHIC/ ILLEGAL MATERIAL –

It is not allowed to post images or text relating in any way to anything that is obscene, illegal and/ or otherwise adult-oriented. These forums contain users of all ages and are not appropriate for any of this material. If a user posts anything related to the above, they can expect very serious and swift reprimands.

– BE CAREFUL WITH PERSONAL INFORMATION –

Do not post sensitive or specific personal information about yourself on these forums, such as photos of yourself, or where you live (town/ street) etc. Not only can they be used in fraud, they also violate your privacy. Anybody who does so will have their posts moderated and a warning will be issued. Anybody who posts personal information about another member/ user can expect very serious punishments. Although the admins will do their best to control and moderate such topics/ posts containing sensitive information, the {KoD} Clan cannot be held responsible in instances relating to fraud or the leaking of personal information.

Clan

– INFORM THE CLAN OF YOUR STATUS –

Please ensure that you update the clan regularly if you are going to take some time away from the server/ forum for whatever reason. It is a good idea to post in the Hi/ Bye/ Away section if you are going to be absent for more than 3-4 days. If you take long absences without informing the rest of the clan you will face demotions or even removal from the clan.

– UPHOLD THE CLAN REPUTATION –

All members are ambassadors for the clan at all times and we expect them to behave well when visiting other servers. Always ensure that you follow the rules on other clan servers and do not bring the name of {KoD} into disrepute.

– MEMBERS MUST VOTE IN POLLS –

{KoD} is a democratic clan where the opinions of all members are valued and necessary. Therefore, we expect all members to vote in clan/ membership related polls. Members who do not vote will be prompted to vote and those who continue to ignore polls will
be subject to warnings and possible demotion.

– LISTEN TO COUNCIL MEMBERS/ LEADER –

Occasionally, due to admin or other very important reasons, the full attention of members may be required. In such instances, you must give your full attention to the Council. Any instances of ignoring in such situations will lead to serious reprimands.

– NO DOUBLE CLANNING –

It is forbidden for members to belong to any other clan if they are already a member of {KoD}. Membership of a team or community may be allowed if the circumstances permit, but this must first be sanctioned with the {KoD} Council. Each case will be dealt with individually. Any players found to be double clanning will be removed from the clan.

– RETURNING MEMBERS –

Former members who left the clan and wish to return can do so at their former rank if they reapply within 4 months of leaving, provided they have not caused the clan any trouble. After 4 months, members will receive the rank of Crusader, unless the Dark Council deems otherwise.
